Block apps by age category

Make sure the “Block All” feature is turned on. Blocking only works when “Block All” is enabled.

If “Block All” is off:
All apps remain accessible with no restrictions.

If “Block All” is on:
Use the slider to select the allowed age level for apps.

Age level options

  • Lock icon — blocks all apps except system and pre-installed ones (e.g., phone, messages, settings).
  • 4+ — only apps rated 4+ or lower are allowed.
  • 9+ — apps rated up to 9+ are allowed.
  • 12+ — apps rated up to 12+ are allowed.
  • 17+ — all apps rated up to 17+ are allowed; only apps rated above 17+ will be blocked (if any).

What happens when blocking is active:

  • IOS: blocked apps disappear from the home screen and app list on your child’s device.
  • Access to the App Store is restricted — your child won’t be able to download apps with a rating above the selected level.
  • Android: Blocked apps may still appear on the home screen, but they won’t open and will remain inaccessible.
  • On Google Play, any app can still be downloaded, but those that exceed the selected age level will be automatically blocked and won’t be accessible on the device.
  • System and pre-installed apps (like phone, messages, etc.) always remain available.
